The Police Command in Ekiti State has assured residents of adequate security during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Joseph Eribo, gave the assurance in a statement issued on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu.
Eribo felicitated with the people of the state, particularly Muslim faithful, on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
He urged the Muslim faithful to use the period to pray for the peace, unity and progress of Nigeria.
The commissioner said that Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), as well as heads of intelligence and tactical units, had been directed to strengthen security and deploy adequate personnel to strategic locations and places of worship across the state.
He also appealed to parents and guardians to caution their wards against acts capable of disrupting the peaceful atmosphere in the state.
Eribo warned that anyone found engaging in unlawful activities would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

He further advised residents to remain security conscious, vigilant, and report any suspicious movement or incident to the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency number.
