The command’s spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, disclosed the arrests in a statement issued on Friday, June 27, 2026.

According to the police, the complainant told officers on June 17 that he visited the burial site two days earlier at their family compound and found it disturbed, with the deceased’s skull missing.

Following credible intelligence, detectives arrested a 40-year-old suspect, Ogunsola Ojo.

During interrogation, Ojo was said to have identified three alleged accomplices: Ayeloja Lattef, Azeez Rasheed, and Kunle Fatai, who is currently at large.

Ojelabi stated that a search at Fatai’s residence led investigators to an uncompleted building adjoining the house, where the suspected human skull was allegedly concealed.

“The recovered skull has been documented and registered as an exhibit, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect,” the statement said.

The policespokesperson added that investigations have been intensified to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and uncover the motive behind the alleged desecration.

He assured residents that the suspects in custody would be prosecuted at the conclusion of investigations, while efforts continue to track down the remaining suspect.
