The Nigeria Police Force has reiterated its dedication to addressing kidnapping, armed robbery, and other criminal activities across the country.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced significant achievements in recent operations.
These include the rescue of 13 kidnapped victims, the apprehension of five armed robbery suspects, and the recovery of firearms and ammunition.
On December 27, 2024, officers from the Kwara State Command raided a kidnappers’ den in Idofin-Igbana following a distress call about the abduction of 13 individuals.
Despite resistance from the perpetrators, the operatives overpowered them, successfully rescuing all victims unharmed.
The kidnappers fled the scene with injuries and are being pursued.
In Lagos State, on December 28, 2024, police responded to a disturbance at Pinnacle Depot in Lekki, leading to the arrest of two suspects, Lawan Mustapha (38) and Aina Daniel (38).
A search at the scene uncovered a double-barrel rifle, 90 live cartridges, and five model rifles.
The suspects are in custody pending further investigation.
On the same day, three armed robbery suspects were apprehended in GRA Ikeja.
Officers recovered a locally made pistol, four live cartridges, and two cutlasses during the operation.
Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to ensuring public safety, emphasizing the ongoing deployment of resources and strategies to eradicate criminal threats.
He assured citizens of the Force’s unwavering dedication to creating a secure environment for all.
The suspects remain in custody and will be prosecuted upon the completion of investigations.
