Mr Ayodeji Faniyan, the Commissioner of Police (CP) in Plateau, Wednesday visited Bin’per community in Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) following Tuesday’s attack on the community by gunmen.

Faniyan, who visited the community for an on-the-spot assessment, commiserated with the affected families, traditional rulers and other stakeholders over the incident.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that gunmen on Tuesday morning attacked Bin’per community, killed some persons and injured many others.
The CP, who condemned the incident, promised to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Faniyan, who conveyed the condolences of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Olatunji Disu, assured the residents of the its commitment to preventing crime and criminality in Plateau.
“We will do everything within our constitutional powers to identify, arrest and prosecute those responsible for this dasdardly act,” Faniyan said.
The commissioner said that the command had beefed up security in the area to protect residents and prevent further attacks.
He appealed to members of the community to provide accurate and timely information that would assist the Police to arrest the the criminals.
Faniyan also urged residents to remain peaceful and vigilant, however, warned them against taking laws into their hands.
“Jungle justice will only escalate tension and affect proper justice for the victims,” he said.
