The third meeting of the 2nd Governing Council of Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP), which held in Port- Harcourt, on Monday and Tuesday, has been rounded off.
The meeting discussed reports by Ad-hoc Committees, among other issues.
Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba and the Minister of Environment, Dr Muhammad Abubakar, participated in the meeting.
They attended the inauguration of the Hydrocarbon Pollution and Remediation Project (HYPREP) operational office at Bori in Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State.
Shortly after, they attended the opening of a civil education event for public health situation analysis and flagged off a free medical outreach programme.
Both ministers also attended a training programme, organised by the Hydrocarbon Pollution and Remediation Project (HYPREP) for community workers on remediation in Ogoniland.
Thereafter, they paid an inspection visit to the Alesa water project to assess the quality and progress of work.
