Labour Party (LP) presidential standard-bearer in the February 25, 2023, election, Mr Peter Obi, has felicitated former President Olusegun Obasanjo on his 86th birthday on Sunday, March 5, 2023, describing him as “a true patriot, great leader, father and mentor to many,” in Nigeria.
Mr. Obi, in a tweet, also commended Chief Obasanjo, who he described as “a very respected father-figure and elder statesman” for his unwavering “desire for peace, progress and development” of the country, stressing that the elder statesman has “always pursued the enthronement of true democracy for the nation.”
The former Governor of Anambra State noted that he admired most the erstwhile military Head of State’s “courage in the face of difficulties,” pointing out that the acclaimed global figure’s “desire to ensure national unity among Nigerians remains praiseworthy.”
Obi prayed for God to bless Chief Obasanjo “with abundant health, wisdom, strength and fulfilment in life” on his 86th birthday.
