In accordance with the stipulations in the 2017 amended Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the National Working Committee (NWC) has granted its approval for the formation of the Edo State Ward Caretaker Committees.
In an official statement, the National Publicity Secretary Hon. Debo Ologunagba said this decision came into effect today, February 1, 2024, and was slated to endure for a duration of 30 days.
He added that the NWC’s resolution was rooted in the conclusion of the tenure of the Edo State Ward Executive Committees as of today.
In response, the NWC has sanctioned the designation of the outgoing Edo State Ward Executive Committees to act as Ward Caretaker Committees for the specified 30-day period.
This strategic move, he said, aimed to prevent any hiatus within this crucial organ of the party in Edo State.
“The NWC extends its call to all Party leaders, essential stakeholders, and members of the PDP in Edo State to adhere to this directive and sustain collaborative efforts for the collective benefit of the Party within the State,” the statement said.
