The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has celebrated Benue State Governor, Dr Samuel Ortom, as he attained the age of 60 years.
In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party said Dr Ortom was a very courageous, selfless, humble and focused leader, who had remained unwavering in his commitment to his people and Nigerians at large.
The party said Governor Ortom stood out as an exceptionally patriotic Nigerian, particularly in his fearlessness in standing for his people as well as championing the full entrenchment of true federalism as well as the democratic tenets of social justice in our nation.
The main opposition party further stated that despite the challenges, including threats to his life, Governor Ortom had remained resilient and outspoken against attempts by oppressive forces to undermine the constitutional order and statutory rights of the Benue people.
It said PDP family was also very proud that in spite of the numerous distractions, Governor Ortom had remained focused in his peace-keeping initiatives as well as massive infrastructure development and economic empowerment of the people.
The party celebrated Governor Ortom and prayed to God to continue to protect him and grant him many more years in good health to the glory of God and benefit of humanity.
