The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described as untrue the report that former Niger State Governor and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu (CON) has been suspended by the Party.
In a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary of North Central Zonal Caretaker Committee overseeing Niger State. Arc. Suleiman Mohammed, the party said it was worthless joining issues with social media fake news peddlers but it was necessary to put the records straight so as not to confuse the teeming and loyal Party faithful in Niger State and elsewhere.
The party added that Dr Babangida Aliyu, a former Governor, who is a serving PDP BoT and NEC member was not and could not be suspended by his local government chapter of the Party.
The party further stated that those parading the fake news were enemies of the PDP, bent on fanning the flames of disunity in the Party.
It appealed to party members and the general public to discard the same as fake news and handiwork of mischief makers.
The party equally appealed to party leaders and stakeholders in Niger State to close ranks and work together to bring back the peace that had eluded the state chapter and denied them victories in the State.
