The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has celebrated the governor of Oyo state, Governor Seyi Makinde, as he attained the age of 53 years.
The party in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, described Governor Makinde as an exceptionally ingenious administrator, whose unwavering commitment in pursuing the welfare of his people, in line with the manifesto of the party, had elevated the bar for governance performance rating in the country.
The further stated that Governor Makinde had distinguished himself as an extraordinary personality, a good-hearted individual and excellent manager of resources, whose sacrifices for the good of his people were a clear demonstration that “the true essence of statesmanship lies in utilizing its exceptional opportunities for the benefit of others rather than self.”
It added that the party was indeed proud of Governor Makinde’s efforts in elevating the living standard of his people as well as his resounding achievements in infrastructure development and other critical sectors of education, healthcare, transportation, agriculture, water resources among others.
Moreover, it said that Governor Makinde had also shown himself a very loyal party man, who had continued to make personal sacrifices for the development of the party.
The PDP therefore prayed that God would continue to grant Governor Makinde good health, more wisdom and many more years “so that his state, Oyo, our party, the PDP, our nation, Nigeria and humanity at large, will continue to benefit from his wealth of experience and patriotism.”
