PDP and the Babbles of an Infant, by Zibiri Mohammed

Like the babbles of an infant in tears, the poorly scripted Press Release, issued by Mr Anthony Azegbemi, the outgoing State Chairman of PDP this morning, down- playing the laudable judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja has confirmed the level of irrecoverable self inflicted damage being suffered by PDP as a party.

While discerning members of the fast crumbling party where still drenched in severe sobs arising from the political-legal mortal assault received from the Federal High Court, nullifying the candidacy of Mr Asue Ighodalo of PDP, Mr Anthony Azegbemi, like a man drunk in poisonous substance issued a monumentally embarrassing and intellectually deficient statement, insinuating that the landmark judgement was inconsequential. The statement is a clear demonstration of the shame in PDP and the babbling of a political infant in tears.

Unarguably, with the exit of many notable leaders and the anger of other members of the party because of the political tyranny of Godwin Obaseki, the existing remnants of PDP have made the party become a party largely occupied by inconsequential political toddlers and lilliputians.

It is sad that PDP has grossly metamorphosed into a party going into extinction in Edo State. And the anchor of the judgement of the Federal High Court presided by the erudite Justice Inyang Ekwo has further emphasized the need for a party to adhere to its constitutional provisions in it’s conducts.

The law is clear and unambiguous. As it stands, by virtue of the Federal High Court pronouncements, the processes of the last PDP Edo Governorship primaries have been invalidated. Therefore, today, PDP has no candidate for the September 21 Edo gubernatorial election.

It shall be a further laughable and comic political scenario if PDP goes ahead to appeal a judgement it claims inconsequential.

The time ticks as Sen. Monday Okpebholo, his running mate, Rt Hon Danise Idahosa and APC advance to victory.
