Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle is mourning his newborn daughter, Omayinuwa, who died a day after her birth
The actor had shared joyful news on Saturday that he and his wife, Olufunmilayo, had welcomed a baby girl.
However, the celebration was cut short when he later announced that the child passed away shortly after birth.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, he disclosed the brief moment he spent with his daughter and expressed sorrow over her passing.
“Omayinuwa visited us briefly about 10:40 am on Friday 10th April and returned to heaven on Saturday 11th of April about 4:15 pm. Her stay was short, but it brought great joy with it. We would have wished for a longer stay, but alas heaven thought otherwise,” he wrote.
He added: “This much we know though, God still rules in the affairs of men. Our faith in the goodness of God remains resolute regardless. Sibe’ sibe’ Oluwa n’be’. It is well with our soul.”
The cause of death was not disclosed.
Patrick Doyle was previously married to actress Ireti Doyle.
They divorced.
He later married Olufunmilayo in 2022, publicly announcing the union the following year.
