Party primary elections: House of Reps to resume plenary on June 7

The House of Representatives has announced the resumption of plenary for June 7, 2022.

The decision, according to Clerk to the House of Representatives, Dr Yahaya Danzaria, was due to the primary elections of the political parties.

The parties, according to the timetable by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were expected to submit to it lists of their candidates for all elective positions on June 3, 2022.

A terse statement by the Clerk reads: “I am directed to inform all Honourable members, Staff members, media and the public that due to the on-going Party Primaries the House will now resume plenary on Tuesday, 7th June, 2022 at 11:00 am.”
