● Pledge grassroots support for APC 2027 over “historic stride for gender inclusion”
Women of Oyo North Senatorial District have praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for endorsing Mrs. Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan as APC’s senatorial candidate, calling it a “bold and historic stride” for women’s representation.
In a statement released Monday, the group said Tinubu’s backing advances gender equity and inclusive governance in a district where women have powered party victories but remained underrepresented in elective office.

“We are delighted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again demonstrated his commitment to fairness, inclusion, and the empowerment of women. Through Mrs. Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, the hopes and aspirations of countless women across Oyo North have been renewed,” the statement read.
The women highlighted Ogunesan’s record in community development and service, describing her as a “worthy representative of women and young people” in Oyo North.

Beyond praise, the group pledged “unwavering support” for APC and its candidates in the forthcoming elections. They assured the party of continued grassroots mobilization across all 10 LGAs in Oyo North.
They also commended Oyo APC leadership and stakeholders for ensuring “capable and competent individuals” emerged as candidates.
The women concluded with prayers for Tinubu’s success and expressed confidence his administration would create “even greater opportunities for women’s participation in governance and nation-building.”
Mrs. Ogunesan’s emergence marks a milestone for Oyo North politics ahead of 2027.
