Former Military Administrator of Taraba and Oyo States, Dr Amen Oyakhire has condoled with the family of Prof Osayuki Oshodi.
Oyakhire, in a message he personally signed, described the death of Prof Osayuki Oshodi as a calamity.
“His loss is a disaster in the Academia. The Ex-UNIBEN VC was an excellent Scholar, extraordinary organic academic, humanistic strategist, was good in character, brilliant in learning and highly impressive in performance,” Oyakhire said.
He further stated that Prof Osayuki Oshodi was the first Benin man and a Professor to be appointed Vice Chancellor of UNIBEN 44 years after its establishment.
“His appointment was a success story. He lived, worked selflessly and died for Nigeria. He was greatly loved by his Majesty Oba Erediauwa.
“Now, UNIBEN has sadly lost two illustrious Ex-VCs within 3 months. Painful death indeed. When beggars die, no comment are seen but the Heavens themselves blaze forth the death of Princes. May God accept his kind and peaceful soul into Paradise,” Oyakhire said.
