Owie mourns former 2nd Republic Reps member, Dr Junaid Muhammed

Former Senate Chief Whip, Distinguised Senator Rowland Owie, has mourned a Second Republic member of the House of Representatives, Dr Junaid Mohammed.

In a statement, the ex Senate Whip said “I received with deep shock, the news of the death of my brother and former colleague in the 2nd Republic House of Representatives, Dr Junaid Mohammed.

‘Although he was elected on the platform of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), while I was elected on the ticket of the Unity Party of Nigeria, he was a true kindred spirit who had immense conviction and indestructible faith in the unity and greatness of Nigeria and her unique destiny in shaping global affairs.

“We have remain brothers and maintained close fraternal relations over the past four decades and only about a week ago, on the 8th of February 2020 to be precise, we spoke at length for over 40 minutes, as a usual reviewed the state of Nation. And in his inimitable candour, he asked us to pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of ex President Sheuh Shagari in whose administration, the Nigerian currency was exchanging at 60 Kobo to 1 US Dollar.”

According to Owie: “Nigerian mourns the loss of an accomplished Medical Doctor, Legislative Colossus and Detrialbalsied Politician who impacted positively on all spheres of Public Service.

“My deep and sincere condolences go to his immediate family and the Government of Kano State. May the good Lord grant us the fortitude to bear this huge loss.”
