The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Osun State Wing will work assiduously with the government and other relevant stakeholders to enhance teacher’s welfare in the state.
The newly-elected Chairman of the union, Comrade Fatade Muritala Olatoke, made this known in his office in Osogbo on Friday while fielding questions from our correspondent.
Comrade Olatoke, who promised training and retraining of teachers in the state as part of his efforts towards enhancing their well being, said efforts would be made to collaborate with the state Universal Basics Education Board, (SUBEB), Ministry of Education and other relevant stakeholders to enhance members productivity and to improve quality of education in the state.
The Osun NUT Chairman promised that his tenure in the office would enhance unity and cohesion among members of the unions while complete welfare and betterment of the members would be his priority.
Comrade Olatoke, who called for the unalloyed support of the entire teachers and elders for him to succeed, said his office door waa open for all and sundry in order to move the union forward.
“Osun NUT will continue to promote and protect the overall interest of all teachers for the betterment of their noble profession,” Comrade Olatoke added.
He, however, advised teachers in the state to make discipline their watchword and be committed to service delivery.
