The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun State Council, has felicitated with the Chairman of the union in the state, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji, on his appointment as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Students’ Affairs and Social Mobilisation.
According to a release signed by the Secretary of the council, Comrade Bukola Elufadejin and made available to our Correspondent in Osogbo on Friday, the appointment was described as timely and appropriate.
It added that the incumbent council chairman would bring his vast experience to bear as former student’s leader going by his antecedents .
The council also extolled the tenacity of purpose displayed by the Chairman for transforming the press centre within his short term in office.
The release further commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his magnanimity and sense of good governance in considering a leading NUJ leader in the state for the exalted position.
Recall that some members of the pen profession have been recently considered for political appointment in the state, among them are: Jamiu Olawumi-SA to Governor on Education, Olaniyi Ajibola, CPS to the Deputy Governor and Adeoye Bakare, Executive Secretary, SUBEB.
“We therefore assure the new SSA of our support and prayers for required wisdom and sound health to perform dexterously in this new assignment”, the release added.
