The Osun State candidate of Accord Party in the July 16 governorship election, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, has urged well-meaning individuals to come over to his party to help rescue the state from total collapse.
Ogunbiyi statement is coming as his party prepares for the primary elections to produce members of the state House of Assembly slated for Tuesday, May 24th, 2022.
The Accord candidate in a statement issued by his Media Campaign Team on Sunday explained that his tours of some of the council areas in the state gave him first-hand information about how the state has lagged behind in infrastructures and social amenities.
Already, Ogunbiyi has visited about 10 local governments (LGs), visiting towns and villages, obas and baales and other stakeholders, including farmers, artisans and traders.
Some of the LGs visited by the Accord flag-bearer and his Deputy, Alhaji Kunle Jimoh were Egbedore, Orolu, Irepodun, Ifedayo, Ila, Ife-North, Ife-Central, Ife-South, Ife-East and Modakeke-Area Office.
Commenting on his experience, Ogunbiyi noted that his party is poised to win the governorship election coming up on July 16 but he admonished other concerned individuals to join him in lifting the state out of poverty.
“Accord Party’s office is open to all genuine individuals. Many are coming on board already. We have people from Labour Party and Action Alliance who had joined us and we are working with eight other political parties to rescue Osun State.
“Those who want to serve our people are already here. We don’t share money in our party but we put our heads together planning and strategizing on how to help and save Osun State”, he stated.
He reinstated that as a giant in the corporate world he was contesting the governorship election because of his love for the people and his desire to distribute equally the state resources to the entire citizenry.
Ogunbiyi explained that he has understanding of what to do to change the state fortune from being a civil service state to an industrialize state, while nothing that the state with 26 viable resources should not be poor.
