The entire traditional rulers at the monthly meeting were taken aback over attack on total fathers in some states in Nigeria.

They maintained that it is high time governments at all levels found solution to the unfortunate situation a situation wheretraditional rulers as custodians of culture and tradition are no longer safe in their palaces.

Speaking on behalf of the chairman of the council, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul Rasheed Olabomi, Odundun 1V, and Alasipa of Asipa, Oba Oyekanmi Muftau Oyehan applauded the series of efforts being put in place by the Gboyega Oyetola led administration in Osun in the area of security, a development which they said the state over the years has been tagged as one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.

The traditional rulers condemned vehemently how their counterparts in some states in Nigeria are on a daily basis being harassed, molested, kidnapped and even killed in their palaces without let or hindrance.

Though Osun has been an exception in this orgy of security lapses, the Obas used the opportunity to seek more protection from government at all levels.

They urged other community leaders, critical stakeholder and security agencies among others to form a synergy with a view to finding lasting solution to the menace of insecurity in some parts of Nigeria.

While urging the Oyetola led administration not to relax in further maintaining and entrenching an atmosphere of security in the state for all citizens, the monarchs who also vouched their readiness for the re-election of Governor Oyetola, pledged their commitments to continue to appeal to their subjects back home in their various domains on the need to be security conscious at all times.

As parents and stakeholders in the education sector, the Council of Obas in Osun also flayed the incessant strike action by the members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities in Nigeria.

Accordingly, they called for an amicable resolution of the crisis for the interest of the students, their parents and the overall development of education in Nigeria.

The meeting rose with a congratulatory message for governor Oyetola on his victory during the recently held APC guber primary elections as a standard flag bearer for the party in the July 16 governorship election in the state.
