As the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal is set to deliver its judgment tomorrow in the former Governor Gboyega Oyetola/All Progressives Congress’ (APC) petition against Governor Ademola Adeleke/the Peoples Democratic Party PDP/the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in the July 16, 2022 governorship election, the leadership of the APC in the state has enjoined its members and supporters to continue to embrace peace in their endeavours.
The Acting State Chairman of the party, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, stated that his party had done everything within the ambit of the law to ensure the diligent prosecution of the petition against the respondents.
Lawal who congratulated the members of the party on being active participants in the seven-day fasting and prayer session directed by his party seven days ago stated that it wasn’t for fun that the prayer exercise was called.
He told the APC members that he wasn’t unaware of the barrage of mocking that the members and leadership of the ruling party subjected them to when the call for the fasting and prayer session was made.
Lawal enjoined the APC members to continue to exhibit the ethos of genuine Omoluabi which they were known for both at the tribunal and outside the tribunal during the judgment delivery tomorrow.
The Osun State APC Acting Chairman implored his party members to refuse to be provoked by anyone as no good thing could be achieved in a rancorous and violent environment.
He also reminded the police and all the other statutory sister security agencies in the state to be proactive in ensuring a water-tight security architecture within and outside the venue of the tribunal tomorrow.
Read him: “Let me show my gratitude to all our members for their show of discipline, exemplary behaviour and their absolute faith in God throughout the period that we have been prosecuting our petition at the tribunal.
“I must state here that you have never, for once, let me or our prestigious party down, by your actions and inactions as you have been the worthy ambassadors of our party which is known for its ardent belief in the rule of law.
“For no reason must you join the pigs to swim in the swamp as the difference between them and us is crystal clear which is realized through notable discipline known as the hallmark of the progressive party.
“It was because we believe in the potency of prayer that prompted us to carry our petition to God Almighty while those who rely on evil powers and principalities were mocking us. We shall leave our detractors to God to adjudicate.”
