The former governor of Osun State and Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has lost his Ward 8, Ifofin in the Ilesha East Local Government Area of the state to the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola, at the ongoing governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oyetola reportedly garnered 309 votes, while Moshood Adeoti, who is the preferred aspirant of Aregbesola, received 146 votes.

Confirming the result, the leader of Aregbesola’s loyalists at his ward, Saheed Adegoke, disclosed that the former governor was not around to cast his vote.

“He told us that he had an assignment from President Buhari,” Adegoke said.
