Osun State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Prince Gboyega Famodun, has berated the opposition Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) for assaulting the sensibilities of the people of the state by thinking that the PDP can be trusted with power in the state.
According to a statement issued by the media aide to the APC chairmani, Kola Olabisi on Wednesday, the party said it observed in an unsigned professionally-defficient statement that was said to have emanated from a non-existing office of the Directorate of the Media of Osun State chapter of the PDP, which was published online Tuesday, that the pungently factionalised opposition party is least qualified to issue a quit notice to the visibly APC outstandingly performing administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Prince Famodun stated that it was a pity that the endorsement of the forward-looking state chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW), among several others in the recent past, could sentence the sharply divided Osun PDP into being jittery beyond imagination.
The chairman, who went down memory lane hinted that no matter the current plight of the state APC, no amount of threat is capable of securing for the state PDP, through the backdoor, what it could not legitimately achieve in the state since the return of democratic government in Nigeria in 1999.
The said Osun PDP which could not be ascertained if it was speaking for the Adagunodo faction or its Pathfinder counterpart should be in the know that the PDP with a trademark of violence had never won any governorship election in Osun State.
The statement reminded the handlers of the immodest opposition party in the state to consult Chief Olabode George and former President Olusegun Obasanjo on the political abracadabra that led to the rigging out of the then performing Governor Bisi Akande in 2003.
“Former PDP impostor Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola who usurped the position of ex-Governor Rauf Aregbesola for over seven years before he was disgraced out of office by a Court of Appeal judgement in November 2010 is a living witness to the current authentic deplorable state of the opposition party.
“One wonders what could be embolding the shattered Osun PDP to be thinking that it could be trusted with power by the ever-conscious and progressively-upright people of the state as it’s on record that the APC has the history of trouncing the opposition party even when it was not divided compared to now that it has so many factions.
“The people of Osun State are not robots who are not capable of distinguishing a performing administration from a set of political gangsters which is only interested in the allure of power not for real service but as a conduit pipe for milking the patrimony of the people of the state.
“The superlative achievements of Governor Oyetola’s administration are visible to the blind, audible to the deaf and even tangible to the idiots which for perhaps pathological incurable challenges, are not registering in the minds of the Osun PDP handlers and their apologists simply because of their desperation for dirty politics.
“The long and short of my message is that the Osun PDP should put its house in order and stop insulting the sensibilities of the NURTW members and their leaders in the state by implying that the popular professional body was bereft of its political priority by unanimously adopting Governor Oyetola for second term.
“There is no amount of political backstabbing that could secure the tenancy of Bola Ige House for the PDP in 2022 as people are now wiser”, Famodun said.
