As the Osun governorship election approachs, the Chairman, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State, Hassan Kamorudeen Okanlawon, on Wednesday, called on politicians to desist from do or die politics as the state governorship election is approaching.
Okanlawon, who warned politicians not to forment trouble before, during and after forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state, made this known in his office while condemning the attack on him and his associates on Monday by some political thugs that invaded his council secretariat.
The Chairman who described the attack as uncalled for, enjoined politicians to stay away from any act that may lead to political mayhem.
According to Hon Okanlawon, “I don’t see any reason why we should be fighting ourselves, because of what? Now that we are all busy working for the second term agenda of our amiable governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.
“We should also stop campaign of calumny at this period as we don’t need it. Let us work together as a team towards the betterment and development of our dear party, APC as well to ensure the emergence of Governor Oyetola for the second term in office”.
The Ifelodun council boss, who said welfare of the people of his council area is his priority since his assumption into the office enumerated some of his achievements which include empowerment programmes for both the youths, women, artisans, farmers and widows as well as various programmes for the aged across his council area.
According to him, he has also transformed the local government area through distribution of various degree of food items to different categories of people.
