● Suspect in police custody as CID probes health status, identity
A man suspected to be a bandit was apprehended by residents in Osogbo Wednesday and handed over to police, with the suspect found wearing Nigerian Army trousers and an Amotekun uniform under his vest.
The arrest occurred at Okefia, near the Government House along Ilobu Road, according to eyewitnesses. A video circulating on social media showed police officers moving the suspect to the Area Command.
–“Does not appear to be normal” — Police–
Osun Police Command spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, confirmed the suspect is in custody and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, CID, at police headquarters in Osogbo.
Ojelabi said the suspect was wearing about three other shirts beneath his vest when caught.
“The suspect does not appear to be a normal person but police have initiated processes to confirm his health status,” Ojelabi stated.
He added that police will conduct a discreet investigation to verify both the suspect’s health condition and identity.

OsunThe arrest near Government House has raised questions about impersonation of security outfits and movement of armed men in Osogbo, coming amid heightened anxiety over banditry threats in Osun and neighboring states.
Police have not said if the suspect is linked to any ongoing kidnapping or attack in the state.
