The National Broadcasting Commission has asked Channels Television to explain why appropriate sanctions should not be applied for infractions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code.
In a letter by the Director General, Balarabe Shehu Ilelah, the commission gave the television station 24 hours to respond to the alleged infractions during its programme which had as guest the Executive Governor of Benue State, Governor Samuel Ortom.
The NBC said the programme contained inciting, divisive and unfair comments which were not thoroughly interrogated by the anchors.
As of the time of this report, The Conclave established that Chamberlain Usoh and Okikiolu Kayode had honoured the invitation by the Commission on the programme
