#OndoDecides2020: Akeredolu, Jegede, Ajayi post emphatic wins in polling units

The three leading candidates in Saturday’s Ondo governorship election – Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the APC, Eyitayo Jegede of the PDP and Agboola Ajayi of the ZLP- posted emphatic wins in their resoective polling units.

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress won in his polling unit 6, Ward 5, Isokun, Ijebu Owo with 413 votes to overwhelm Peoples Democratic Party’s Eyitayo Jegede, who polled 12 votes.

The candidate of the ZLP, Agboola Ajayi, posted zero vote.

Jegede triumphed over all in his Igbogin/Isikan Ward 2, unit 9, garnering 220 votes to brush aside Governor Akeredolu who scored 60 votes.

Again, Ajayi turned out the whipping candidate, scoring only seven votes.

But Ajayi, who is the deputy governor of the state, proved that he is loved at home by winning in his polling unit in Kiribo in the Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state with 395 votes.

The result, titled “Publication of Reault of Poll,” was pasted at the unit by the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Agboola won the Apoi Ward II, Unit 004, Idumado Quarters, Kiribo with a wide margin, pummeling both Akeredolu and Jegede to the ground. They scored 13 and five votes resowctively.

Collation of votes is ongoing and there are feelers that the final results will be announced Sunday afternoon by the INEC.
