The Ondo State House Of Assembly aspirant for Ose LGA, Dimeji Obiniran, has scaled the screening hurdle of the Ondo State All Progressives Congress’ Screening Committee.
The exercise took place at the state secretariat of the party in Akure on Wednesday, 12th May, 2022.
After the screening, Obiniran commended members of the Committee for doing a good job for the party.
He noted that in his years of all-weather experience in party politics and as someone who has been involved in election matters at different times, he had yet to encounter a group of committed officials in the Screening Committee.
He said they worked tirelessly to ensure that the internal democracy mechanism of the party was upheld by giving equal opportunities to all aspirants.
Obiniran was confident that he would win the party’s ticket to contest the Ose LGA House of Assembly election.
His words, “if I am elected, I will give my LGA effective representation at the House of Assembly thereby justifying the confidence reposed in me by the electorate at the poll.
“I believe that I am more qualified to represent the LGA because I have been living with my people for a long time. I identify with their aspirations and struggles. I am not a part-time politician who only shows up at every election cycle to contest for any elective position available and zoned to Ose LG.”
While thanking the Chairman of APC in the state, Engr Ade Adetimehin, for committing himself to upholding the tenets of democracy in ensuring free and fair contest for all party members, he enjoined him and his team to continue to strategise and work for the interest of the party after the primary.
Obiniran, who was the former ODIEC Electoral officer for Ose local government and also the Chairman of the Electoral Officers in Ondo State enjoined his co-aspirants to ensure a violence-free and credible primary election.
Obiniran said he believed that “the most reputable, credible and popular candidate stands a better chance of representing APC in Ose LGA as the party’s flag bearer which will, surely, guarantee success for the party in the coming general election.”
