The Asiwaju of Ikoyi land, Dr (Alhaji) Hamid Kolawole Raheem has described the late Olukoyi of Ikoyi, Oba Yisau Bantale Otunla Kodaolu 1, as a visionary and compassionate leader.

This is as he commiserated with the government of Isokan South Local Council Development Area of Osun State, the Olukoyi in Council and entire residents over the demise of the late monarch.

According to Dr Raheem in his condolence message made available to journalists on Friday, the late Olukoyi was a visionary and compassionate leader, who used the spheres of his influence as a respected traditional ruler and a lover of the creative industry to advance the progress of his people, encouraging and motivating them to give their best in their vocation and to Osun State.

While noting that the Olukoyi’s demise leaves a huge void to fill, the Asiwaju asked the people of Ikoyi Community and Nigerians from different walks of life to honour the eternal memory of the late monarch by imbibing the virtues he cherished so much.

The virtues, according to Dr Raheem, include generosity, peace, tolerance and devotion to unity.

As the monarch has been laid to rest, the Asiwaju of Ikoyi land emphasised on the process of selecting his successor advising that it should be guided by wisdom, understanding and good judgment that exemplified the life he lived.

This is even as Dr Raheem prayed that God grant the soul of Oba Otunla eternal rest and comfort the family, friends, associates and subjects he left behind.
