A veterinary doctor resident in Ogun State has accused Olatunbosun Olanrewaju Matty, a self-proclaimed admission and visa consultant, of absconding with his N1.9 million.
The veterinary doctor, who asked not to be named, told FIJ that he met the agent on Twitter in July 2022 after a post he made on his consultancy expertise.
He said he wanted to facilitate his travel to South Cyprus through the agent but what was meant to be an exciting adventure quickly turned into a financial burden for him.
He said as the conversation progressed between them, it was agreed upon that he would pay Matty N1.9 million to cover various expenses related to the trip.
The veterinary doctor said in January, he informed the agent of his decision to withdraw from the trip due to a waning interest.

“Matty said that would mean that he would charge his agent fee. It was N400,000. I told him I had no problem with that. He said he would speak to the school and would send the money in early March, after the school must have refunded the money within six to eight weeks,” the source told FIJ.
“After I told him my parents obtained the money through a loan, he asked that I give him some time in April. This was after the eight weeks had elapsed.

“In May, he told me not to rush him because he had a court hearing and that Zenith Bank debited him. He said the court hearing was to be held on June 26 and that after the court hearing, he would pay. This is July. He no longer responds to my calls or texts.”
FIJ reached out to Matty via WhatsApp for comments but received no response, despite the messages being read.
