Oba Owolabi Olakulehin was, on Friday, crowned as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The event was held at the Labosinde compound – the family whose right is to crown any Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Oba Olakulehin immediately moved to Ile Osemeji at Oja Oba area of the city after his crowning as the new Olubadan.
Ile Osemeji is regarded as the place where the divination on the future of Ibadan was revealed.
The official presentation of the staff of office to the new Ibadan monarch and other paraphernalia of office by Governor Seyi Makinde was being expected at the popular Mapo Hall venue of the coronation.
Those present at the venue included a former Oyo State Governor and member of the Olubadan-in-Council, Rashidi Ladoja; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar; and a former Senate Leader, Teslim Folarin, among others.
