Okpoama chiefs applaud Governor Diri, Tinubu for infrastructure milestones

The Okpoama Kingdom Council of Chiefs, under the leadership of High Chief Nathan Egba Dienagha, has praised Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, for his bold move to construct the Nembe-Brass Road through the difficult mangrove swamp terrain.

The commendation came in a communiqué issued following the council’s second 2025 meeting, held over the weekend in Okpoama.

The communiqué, signed by High Chief Nathan Egba-Dienagha and Secretary Chief Inenyo Yousuo-Ogbulu, highlighted the road project as a transformative initiative set to drive development in the coastal region.

The council described Governor Diri as a courageous and equitable leader for undertaking such a significant project.

The chiefs also extended appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for greenlighting the second phase of the Nembe-Brass Road, a Federal Government-funded effort.

They called on All Infrastructure Limited, the contractor for this phase, to hasten construction to ensure seamless delivery and alignment with federal objectives for the region.

The council further expressed gratitude to Governor Diri for the renovation of the Okpoama Mission Jetty, which had been a safety concern for residents before the state’s intervention.

The chiefs urged Okpoama residents to remain patient, assuring them that the kingdom’s challenges would soon be addressed.

The meeting reaffirmed the council’s support for infrastructure advancements and their dedication to the progress of the Okpoama Kingdom.
