Following the disturbances which took place a few days ago in some parts of Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has promised immeduate action after he was fully briefed about the incident.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka, the Governor expressed shock at this reckless display of disregard for human lives.
Ememanka said the Governor was deeply saddened by reports of loss of lives in the incident and sent his sincere condolences and those of the Government and People of Abia State to the families of the deceased persons.
He added that the Governor strongly assured the people that measures had been put in place to ensure that the situation would be arrested immediately and appealed to the youths of the area and indeed, all law abiding citizens of Ohafia LGA to remain calm as “Government implements measures to bring the situation to a complete stop.”
