Among the key issues addressed was the reversal of previous policies that had undermined the authority and heritage of the Oba of Benin.

These included the unlawful attempt to appropriate ancient Benin artefacts, the controversial creation of Traditional Councils in Edo South in defiance of established customs, and the revocation of the statutory entitlements of the Benin Traditional Council.

Additionally, the Royal Court praised the governor’s decision to restore the concession of the Oba Akenzua II Cultural Centre, which had previously been withdrawn and partially annexed for the development of a private museum.

The Royal Fatherr lauded the governor’s commitment to fostering a harmonious relationship between the government and traditional institutions, emphasizing that such partnerships were essential for peace and sustainable development.

The restoration of the statutory rights of the Oba of Benin and the abrogation of divisive executive orders that threatened the unity of Edo South were particularly acknowledged as monumental steps towards reinforcing traditional governance and stability in the state.

Beyond traditional affairs, the statement also recognized the administration’s remarkable focus on infrastructure development within a short span of time.

The governor’s initiation of three major flyover projects in Benin City was highlighted as a groundbreaking move towards modernizing the state’s transport system.

Additionally, the Royal Court acknowledged the ongoing rehabilitation of roads, schools, and healthcare facilities, reflecting the administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of Edo citizens.

As a foremost traditional institution, the Oba of Benin reaffirmed its support for the governor’s leadership and expressed confidence in his ability to drive Edo State toward economic prosperity.

It also prayed for divine guidance, wisdom, and protection for the governor, his administration, and his family, urging him to remain steadfast in his mission to transform Edo State for the better.

The Oba concluded by assuring the governor of its unwavering prayers and cooperation in the collective effort to build a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous Edo State.
