The Owa of Igbajo, Oba Adegboyega Famodun, has urged the residents of the ancient Igbajo community to seek for peace and other virtues capable of uniting the town to enable him to render quality service to them.

The Owa made this known in a press statement issued and made available to journalists on Monday in Osogbo to react to some groups and royal family protesting against his selection as their monarch.

Oba Famodun who called for calm among the aggrieved people, said Igbajo community is known for peace and always be in support of any government in power saying “we must work together to move our community forward above others.

” I want you to eschew violence and don’t allow any intruder. Let us come together as one family and uplift the town.

“Agreed, the government has spoken under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke that a White Paper would be out this month, on this note, we should all wait for this instead of fomenting trouble or protesting”.

It would be recalled that a group of people and a royal family from the town recently embarked on a peaceful protest to the state house of assembly and Governor’s Office at the state secretariat in Osogbo against the selection of Oba Famodun as the Owa of Igbajoland.

According to the protesters, the selection of Oba Famodun was illegal, claiming that the case was still in court before the immediate past administration of Mr Gboyega Oyetola went ahead in installing him as the new Owa of Igbajo.
