The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence Postgraduate (PG) Programmes in the Faculty of Law.

The commission’s nod followed an exercise by the resource verification team constituted by the NUC.

The Dean, Faculty of Law, Dr Ernest Ugbejeh in a chat with NOUN News correspondent, said the programmes which were initially suspended were, by this approval, billed to commence.

The official communication for the approval, the dean said, had since been received by the management of the university.

According to him, the programmes verified by the NUC during the exercise were: PG in Legislative Drafting, Master of Laws (L.L.M) and Doctor of Philosophy in Law.

While expressing his appreciation for the support received by the faculty, he thanked the management and other directorates, particularly the Directorate of Academic Planning.

He particularly thanked and appreciated the support of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, which he described as “unparalleled.”

Speaking further, Ugbejeh said the programmes would commence in January 2023.
