NTA Zonal director visits 6 Division headquarters, seeks increased support

The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Network Centre in Port Harcourt, under the leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Evelyn Nwosu, the Zonal Director, paid a courtesy visit to Major General Jamal Abdussalam, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army and the Land Component Commander of the Joint Task Force, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE.

The visit took place on October 26, 2023, at the Port Harcourt Barracks, Rivers State.

According to Acting Deputy Director 6 Division Army Public Relations Major Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, Dr. Nwosu, in outlining the purpose of her visit, expressed her gratitude to the GOC for his generous donation of two air conditioning units to NTA.

These units are intended to maintain NTA’s inverter equipment at an optimal level, ensuring a seamless transmission process.

The NTA expressed their profound appreciation for this significant contribution.
Dr. Nwosu specifically commended the GOC for the prompt response to their request and called for the 6 Division’s continued assistance when the need arises.

She also conveyed her team’s appreciation for the warm reception they received, emphasizing their pride in the Nigerian Army’s contributions to the nation’s well-being.

In response, Major General Abdussalam appreciated the NTA’s visit and acknowledged the longstanding role NTA had played in inspiring, entertaining, informing, and educating countless Nigerians.

He expressed confidence that this visit would further strengthen the existing relationship between the Nigerian Army and NTA.

Major General Abdussalam also commended NTA for recognizing the potential for collaboration outside of strictly military activities and assured them of 6 Division’s continuous support and cordial relationship.

He emphasized that the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy promoted cooperation not only among sister security agencies but also with other government agencies like NTA.

The GOC explained that the contribution made to NTA was part of the Nigerian Army’s Civil-Military Cooperation activities.

He highlighted the critical role NTA plays as a Federal Government establishment in the fight against crime, insecurity, and vandalism and reiterated the commitment to provide ongoing support to help NTA fulfill its responsibilities effectively.
