Intelligence and Investigation department has been described as the bedrock of security agencies as it is saddled with the responsibility of gathering proactive intelligence to resolve various security challenges militating against the country.
The Head of Department, Intelligence and Investigation, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Augustine Padonu, made this assertion at the state headquarters, during a workshop organised for the officers of the Intelligence and Investigation Department in the Command.
Deputy Commandant Padonu stressed the need for the Intelligence and Investigation Department to redefine its purpose, navigate through another path and fine tune a robust methodology to ensure a better performance.
He also re-emphasised the importance of intelligence and investigations in the security architecture; as it helps in providing actionable, proactive, classical intelligence information and the general security of lives and property, not minding whose ox is gored.
While declaring the event opened, the State Commandant of the Corps, Osun State Command, Commandant Emmanuel Ocheja noted that successful security operations rely on credible intelligence.
