Dr. Audi underscored the significance of this partnership in devising effective strategies to combat crime nationwide.

In turn, Prof. Abubakar Suleiman Olarewaju, Director General of NILDS, emphasized the need for a multifaceted approach to security challenges, noting that not all instances of insecurity necessitate a kinetic response.

He stressed the importance of intelligence gathering and informed research in identifying underlying causes of insecurity, areas where NILDS excels.

Prof. Olarewaju advocated for increased attention to paramilitary agencies, highlighting their crucial role in addressing security challenges alongside the military.

He underscored the mandate of NILDS to provide technical support to Nigeria’s political structures, noting the conducive parliamentary framework provided by the 9th Leadership of the National Assembly to facilitate their operations.

The reciprocal visits between NSCDC and NILDS serve to strengthen the collaborative efforts between these two federal agencies, aiming for a more cohesive and effective approach to addressing security concerns across the nation.
