The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has expressed great relief at the House of Representatives’ resolution to investigate allegations of a twenty-billion-naira payment to “ghost consultants.”

In a statement, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Garba Deen Muhammad, refuted the false and baseless accusation, which was originally published by an online platform without any evidence.

He highlighted the NNPC Ltd’s commitment to transparency under the current Board and Management, which includes making its annual Audited Financial Statements public.

Muhammad welcomed the House of Representatives’ decision to investigate the matter, confident that it would vindicate the company and put an end to any speculation.
