The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has urged the Federal Government to publish the names of beneficiaries of the N330 billion reportedly disbursed under its cash transfer programme for poor Nigerians.
Speaking in Abuja on Friday, NLC Acting General Secretary, Comrade Benson Upah, questioned the transparency of the initiative managed by the National Social Safety-net Coordinating Office (NASSCO). He said government claims of lifting millions out of poverty must be backed by verifiable evidence.
“For the sake of accountability, Nigerians deserve proof of these disbursements,” Upah stated.
