The management of Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST, has dismissed trending media reports claiming that President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, sacked Dr Ismail Adebayo Adewusi as the Postmaster General (PMG) of the Federation.
In a statement, NIPOST’s Director of Corporate Communications, Franklyn Alao, said the purported news was false, reckless, mischievous and meant to mislead the public.
He advised all stakeholders and the public to disregard the malicious information.
Alao said Dr Ismail Adebayo Adewusi was in the office performing his official duties, working tirelessly to ensure the transformation of the agency and boost its quality of service, in line with best global practices.
He added that since assuming office, NIPOST had witnessed novel ideas aimed at transforming its operations in line with the digital economy agenda of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Alao further stated that such malicious fake news could only be the handiwork of those who did not wish the organization well in its commitment towards contributing to the overall economic transformation of Mr President.
