Nigerian singer Niniola has paid tribute to her late husband, Michael Ndika, who died on May 19, 2026.
The award-winning artist shared an emotional post on Instagram on May 27, describing Ndika as her “best friend, confidant, pillar, and business partner.”
Niniola said she is still adjusting to his absence. “I find myself waiting, expecting Michael to walk through the door,” she wrote. “He was the air I breathe(d). I can’t survive this.”
She recalled how close they were at home and how Ndika always wanted her by his side.
Though she described herself as “naturally a loner,” Niniola said her husband was “all I needed because he was one in a million.”
“He touched my life in different capacities,” she added. “And God took him from me.”
Michael Ndika’s death was announced on May 19. The couple kept much of their marriage private, but Niniola’s tribute shows the depth of their bond.
Fans and colleagues have since flooded her comment section with condolences and prayers for strength.
