The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has issued new guidelines for the modification of the date of birth.
It noted that such modification could only be done once in o citizen’s life and times.
The new guidelines which were issued by NIMC and published via their verified official X handle on Sunday, 24th of December 2023, stated that applicants would now require an electronic civil registration and vital statistics system (e-CRVS) certificate from the National Population Commission (NPC).
Copies of other valid documents such as identification and application letter for modification will now be addressed to the DG/CEO, NIMC.
According to the NIMC, with the new guidelines, date of birth modification can only be done once in a lifetime and only at NIMC enrolment centres.
The NIMC, therefore, cautions the oublis that NIMC licence agents are not allowed to do date of birth modification and other forms of modification.
