The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has urged Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing ward level enrolment drive to register and obtain their National Identification Number (NIN).
The Head, Corporate Communications NIMC, Kayode Adegoke made the announcement in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.
Adegoke said NIN remains a foundational requirement for accessing critical government services in Nigeria.
“The Commission therefore encourages all citizens and residents who have not yet enrolled to take advantage of this decentralised exercise and present themselves at designated ward enrolment centres.
“To ensure smooth operations, members of the public are advised to check the NIMC website for the nearest designated enrolment point within their ward cooperate with enrolment officials.
“Nigerians are expected to provide accurate information during registration as well as visit and follow NIMC official communication channels for verified information and update website and social media accounts,’’ he said.

Adegoke said NIMC remains committed to achieving inclusive identity coverage nationwide and calls on all citizens and residents to come out en masse to register and obtain their NIN.
