As of the time of going to press, South-south had been taken over completely [100%] by the All Progressives Congress [APC].

A vast majority of defectors into the APC were governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP].

A look at the state of party control across Nigeria’s geo-political zones (Dec 10, 2025) showed a steady proclivity towards a one-party state, with 26 states in the kitty of the APC.
