In a decisive move to tackle terrorism and other security threats in Nigeria, the Nigerian Army has successfully neutralized two terrorists, apprehended an armed suspect, and seized a substantial cache of arms and ammunition in recent operations.
On August 14, 2024, based on credible intelligence, Nigerian Army troops launched an ambush at Kwana Uri village in Giwa Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
During the ensuing gunfight, the troops eliminated two terrorists, forcing the survivors to flee into nearby bushes.
A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, 288 rounds of RG55 ammunition, 40 rounds of CJ 95 ammunition, six rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a Baofeng communication radio, and a motorcycle.
In a separate operation in Plateau State, troops arrested a suspected criminal in Ganawuri village, Riyom Local Government Area.
The suspect was found in possession of a fabricated automatic rifle.
These successful operations, marked by the elimination of terrorists, the recovery of significant ammunition, and the arrest of an armed suspect, underscore the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to combating security challenges and restoring peace in the country.
