The Christian community in Nigeria is mourning the loss of a prominent figure, Pastor Nkechi Ene, the presiding pastor of The Carpenter’s Church in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Pastor Ene died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in a sudden health crisis while in Lagos, shortly after returning from a ministry trip.
Born in 1969, Pastor Ene dedicated her life to serving God and humanity.
She began her pastoral work under the leadership of her late husband, Pastor Charles Ene, the founding pastor of The Carpenter’s Church.
After his passing in 2013, she continued to lead the ministry, expanding its outreach through media broadcasts and community programs. Her commitment to spreading the Word of God and her Bible-based teachings earned her recognition and admiration from many.
The church’s statement, signed by Pastor Sola Akinwale, described Pastor Ene as a woman of great faith who lived and believed the Word of God till the very end.
“She has now heard the words from her Master, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant,'” the statement read.
Despite her passing, Pastor Ene’s impact and legacy will endure in the hearts and lives of those she touched through her ministry.
The church family and members are in mourning, and condolences have been pouring in for her husband, Brother Emeka Ene, and their four daughters, Zoe, Chloe, Tracy, and Osi, as well as her mother, Ma Mercy Chijioke, and siblings.
