In a series of coordinated operations, the Nigerian Army has dismantled a firearms courier syndicate, arrested a female suspect with over 500 rounds of ammunition, and neutralized multiple terrorists across several states.
According to military sources, on October 17, 2024, acting on intelligence, security forces arrested Mrs. Fidausu Hassan and her accomplice, Mr. Sani Isah Musa, at Barikin Ladi Motor Park in Plateau State.
The pair were part of a gun-running network supplying arms from Plateau to terrorists in Zamfara State.
Authorities seized 505 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition during the operation.
In a separate raid in Ambakka village on the Plateau-Nasarawa border, troops apprehended Alhaji Adamu Bajara, a wanted terrorist.
Three AK-47 rifles and ammunition were recovered, while security forces continue pursuing his accomplices.
Further military efforts in Pankshin Local Government Area, Plateau State, led to the recovery of 46 stolen livestock from cattle rustlers, following a successful clash with the criminals.
Elsewhere, in Yobe State’s Gujba Local Government Area, troops raided a Boko Haram stronghold.
Two terrorists were eliminated, and a significant cache of weapons, including rifles and ammunition, was recovered.
Additionally, an ambush on ISWAP fighters along the Gamboru-Logomane road in Borno State resulted in the death of two insurgents and the recovery of more arms and equipment.
These operations underscore the Nigerian Army’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and illegal arms trafficking across the nation.
