In a series of decisive military operations, Nigerian Army troops have delivered a crushing blow to terrorist factions across several states, eliminating fighters, rescuing hostages, and recovering substantial arms and logistics supplies.
On October 6, 2024, acting on intelligence, troops ambushed terrorists preparing an assault on Lamisheri and Ngirboa in Yobe State, killing four insurgents and seizing weapons.
Earlier, troops disrupted terrorist logistics in Buni Yadi, confiscating rifles, motorcycles, and ammunition, while two Boko Haram suppliers were apprehended in Goniri Market.
In Borno State, coordinated offensives led to the surrender of several insurgents, with weapons and cash handed over to the military.
Similar successes were recorded in Kaduna, where insurgents disguised as herders were neutralized, and arms, ammunition, and rustled cattle were recovered.
Further operations in Plateau, Benue, and Kogi States resulted in the arrest of gunrunners, kidnappers, and terrorist leaders.
Troops also launched precision raids on IPOB/ESN hideouts in Ebonyi and Anambra, neutralizing fighters and seizing weapons.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, praised the troops’ efforts and urged continued support as the military intensifies operations to eradicate terrorism.
